What is the role of the NHS podiatrist?

The Podiatrists will support the development and monitoring of the foot care services to ensure high quality training of volunteers across Devon.  They will work collaboratively with voluntary agencies, older people and other appropriate health and social services personnel and be an important focal point for general information on the service for the public.

How much will the service cost?

It is expected that the cost for the foot care service will be £5.50 per session.

Are there any other costs involved?

When you sign up for the service you will be given an equipment pack which you would need to bring to each of your foot care sessions.  We decided that each user should have their own equipment pack to eliminate worries about infection control. Once these packs have been used you would have to buy your own equipment pack at a cost of £13 approximately.

Will I be given transport to receive my foot care service?

Transport will not be offered to users as part of the service but we would always be happy to help offer advice on transport available.  It may be that the provider of the service in your area may be able to help vulnerable people to get to where the service is provided.
