Footcare user Vera Denham

Vera has never had any serious problems with her feet and had always cut her own toenails until she had her hip replacement when it became impossible to bend down to cut her toe nails.

“I have always had very happy feet.  The only problem that I have had is with some in growing and hardening toe nail although I was finding bending down to cut my own toe nails more and trickier.”

Vera was signposted to the My Life, My Choice foot care service by her local medical surgery the Coleridge Medical Surgery and now attends the foot care service at the Ottery Hospital every six weeks.

“I am really pleased with the service and think that the volunteers are really super.  At my last session I was asked if I would mind having my toe nails cut by a supervised trainee which I didn't mind at all.  She was very good although I did feel sorry for her as she was very nervous. I am really pleased that this service has been set up and know that there are lots more people like me who would really benefit from it.  My feet are very happy and feel great. ”
