Jackie Finch (aged 65) lives at home with her husband Herbie in Exeter.  They have lived at their home for 32 years and were born and brought up in Devon.

Jackie who is waiting for a hip replacement was having real trouble cutting her own toe nails. She had considered going to see a chiropodist but thought that it would be too expensive and then she saw an article in the Express & Echo on the My Life, My Choice foot care service.

“I was struggling to do them myself and I wasn’t really happy for my husband to do them for me as he has quite shaky hands and I was worried that he may cut me.  When I saw the article in the local paper I put down my breakfast and called the service straight away.”

Jackie now attends the foot care clinic every five weeks at Glass House Lane or Chapel Platt in Exeter and is really thrilled with the service.

“I am over the moon with the service.  Louise who cuts my toe nails is absolutely wonderful, so friendly and welcoming. I only retired a couple of years ago from working at the University Library and I do miss the girls that I used to work with. Going along to the foot care clinic is more than just having my toe nails cut; it is also really nice in that you can have a good old chat whilst you are there.  I do really enjoy it.  It is also where I grew up and so I often see people that I know which makes it even more enjoyable. It really is a super service.”
